Elegant Contemporary Space

This large family kitchen makes the most of the great height of the room and abundant natural daylight. The bespoke design by Barnes of Ashburton maximises on storage and worktop space and includes a large and very striking island perfect for food preparation and socialising. This grand kitchen has a real wow factor each element of the room has been carefully designed in keeping with its fresh modern style. The cabinets are painted in Parma Grey by Farrow and Ball a colour that works well with the stainless steel appliances.

A challenge with this kitchen was to make it real as the appliances and space were both so large there was a danger of the room feeling overbearing. This issue has been overcome by Barnes’ use of different materials that break up the room and reflect light back into the space. Above the stove is a tinted glass panel and the island is topped off with a Glacier acrylic surface.

The handmade cabinets from the Barnes of Ashburton 'contemporary' range are constructed from Lime wood and are made to last for generations.

Overall this kitchen although beautifully presented is also highly effective and the owner is thrilled with the results.
