A practical kitchen & the heart of the home

Taken from the August edition of Devon Life the article above displays the journey from thinking of a new kitchen, the processes and considerations of kitchen design and finally the installation of a rather special kitchen that merits the wonders of this beautiful Devon farmhouse. With so much scope and potential we loved working on the kitchen design and enjoyed our time at the property looking at the opportunities for complementing the period features already in place. A mix of fitted kitchen furniture and free standing kitchen furniture gives a fine blend making the room both practical, comfortable and very homely.

A classic farmhouse kitchen

The centerpeice is the kitchen island that provides a plethora of storage as well as the kitchen sink complete with brass taps to compliment the brass servant’s bells that still hang above the service door to the rest of the house. Sympathetic lighting, a wonderful stone floor and wooden kitchen dressers are all in keeping with this beautiful period property holding on to the classic farmhouse kitchen style.
