Although our primary business is the creation of handmade bespoke kitchens, our talented team of cabinet makers like to get their teeth in to cabinetry of all sorts including fitted and free standing furniture for any room of the house.
At Barnes we design more than Kitchens
In recent years many of our clients who have had a Barnes kitchen installed have returned to us requesting interior design for other rooms in their homes. Whether it’s a practical boot room, a creative home office, bedroom or dressing room, or a luxurious master suite, the Barnes Team can inspire and create for you.
The article in English homes features snippets from several of our design projects from the past twelve months, including a gorgeous kitchen hand made using lime wood with cockbead detail and oak elements giving a fine blend of classic and contemporary style. Our traditional methods of cabinet making blend well with our modern approach to design giving great results in any room.

Our custom-made fine timber furniture can be designed to fit in with any style of property and we are very lucky to be involved with design and build in some of the finest homes in the South West and beyond.
Working in such a range of properties provides its challenges so each piece of furniture is designed and made precisely to fit and work with the style of the property. During our design consultation we discuss each clients individual needs and their preferred look and style.
We consider all things practical and functional and are perfectly used to working with and accommodating wonky walls, awkward corners and sloping ceilings. But 40 years of experience allows us to create stunning results, incorporating existing architectural features along the way.
