Georgian Town Home

The fitted furniture was designed in our classic Barnes framed style handmade using lime wood which was then painted in Farrow and Balls Purbeck Stone giving it an understated mid grey that resembles the colour of stone found on the Isle of Purbeck. This colour scheme was complimented using other easy neutrals that presented the room with a beautifully calming light feel.

The kitchen cabinets provide a great deal of varied storage including illuminated shelving, enclosed spice racks and an enormous walk in pantry complete with bottle store.

The flooring was replaced with driftwood effect wood care of beach Brothers also here in Devon. In contrast to the kitchen furniture and flooring, the kitchen surfaces were topped using polished India black granite which gives real depth thanks to its dark intensity and subtle veins.

The bespoke glass splash backs from Armada Glass of Plymouth were colour matched to Little Greenes ‘Brighton’ with its very clean blue-green shade with obvious seaside connotations to marry up with the driftwood flooring, again giving it a calm and spacious feel.

The large central kitchen island has a sitting area at one end and is home to two sinks and a built in oven with hob. Below the India black granite surface is an abundance of easy access storage for items that are needed day in day out.

Additional fittings were added overhead care of Amos Lighting of Exeter to provide both task lighting and more ambient softer light when required. An Aga is also present to provide warmth to the heart of the house making this Barnes kitchen a great place to relax, entertain and prepare fine food.
